Encounter Aliens in Your Outer Space Costume   by Hannah Hanover

When dressing up as a creature from outer space, you can be anything from the classic grey alien with the big black eyes that we are all familiar with from the science fiction movies, or you can be modern day alien fighters like Ben and Gwen Tennyson, Kevin the Osmosian, Julie Yamamoto and their friends in the “Ben 10 Alien Force” series on Cartoon Network. Watch out for “Acid Breath”, “Frightwig” and “Thumbskull”. Be careful not to confuse Ben with Albedo, the Galvan who turns into a red- eyed, silver haired clone of Ben who uses his copy of the Omnitrix for shape-shifting abilities similar to Ben’s.

You can go back in time for a retro looking outer space costume and pretend you are meeting with Klaatu and his powerful robot Gort from the great 1950’s movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. Say the code words; “Klaatu barada nikto” to Gort and release him from his state of suspended animation.

Wear your outer space costume and voyage to the planet Altair and pretend you are on the “Forbidden Planet” with Robby the Robot.

You can travel to the far away Alpha Centauri in the Jupiter 2 with the Robinson family and the stowaway Dr. Zachary Smith and discover that “Robby” has escaped from Altair and is now aboard the Jupiter 2 to help Will Robinson out of his many problems caused by Dr. Smith.

You can have fun with your outer space costume after watching the bad, in a good way, movie, “Plan 9 from Outer Space”. Watch out for the creatures from another world as they arrive in their flying saucer to stop the earthlings from destroying the universe. Aliens who look surprisingly human, by the way. You can battle the vampire girl, “Vampira”, and the other zombies.

You can visit with 3 eyed aliens like the LGM (Little Green Men), the Squeeze Toy Aliens from the Pizza Planet in the movie “Toy Story 3″.

Past, present or far into the future, you can enjoy wearing an outer space costume on Halloween as you confront the MIB’s (Men in Black), grey aliens with big black eyes, robots or creatures from your own imagination.

Your Halloween costume can be a unique expression of your own ideas. It’s always fun to invent your own world of astronauts and strange creatures from another planet and save the earth or even the entire Milky Way Galaxy from an invasion of flying saucers from another world.
